THE SHORT ANSWER
Describe the exact item, show an image you can share, explain what you have already checked and ask one clear sourcing question. Use the template as a starting point, then adapt it to the current rules of the community where you post.

1. Ask for a source, not an undefined judgement
A W2C request asks where to buy an item. Decide whether you need the exact pictured design, a particular colour or an alternative with similar visible features. Readers can give a more relevant answer when that distinction appears in the title and first sentence.
A title such as W2C grey zip hoodie with two front pockets is more informative than Help please. If you are looking for an alternative, say which characteristics matter and which can change. Keep quality judgments or order-support questions separate so the source request has a clear purpose.
2. Include the context you actually know
Attach a clear image you have permission to share and describe where it came from. Include a source page if you have one, and explain whether it is the exact item or only an inspiration image. Avoid turning a guessed brand, model or batch into a confirmed detail just to make the request look complete.
One indexed Oopbuy community reminder asks for seller, product link, batch and price with product posts. That illustrates why context matters, but a W2C request may not have those details yet. Write unknown where appropriate and read the current subreddit rules; different post types can require different fields.

3. Say what you checked and what is still missing
Mention a small number of useful search terms or candidate pages you already checked. Explain why they did not answer the question: perhaps the back view differs, the requested colour is absent or the source is no longer identifiable. This helps avoid replies that repeat the same unsuccessful suggestion.
A budget can help when you want alternatives. Specify the currency and whether it refers to the item only, without turning the request into a full shipping calculation. Do not add private order numbers, payment screenshots or an exact home address; none is needed to describe the product you are researching.
4. Copy the template and replace every placeholder
The English template below is original and intended for a draft. Replace or remove every bracketed field, check that each claim matches your evidence and shorten anything that does not help identify the item. The budget and alternative options are optional rather than fields you must invent.
Use the copy button to place the draft on your clipboard. It does not publish, send a message or attach a photo. Check the image and the final wording in the destination community before posting; the template cannot determine which flair or format is required there.
Copy the draft, then replace the bracketed fields. Nothing is posted here.
5. Follow up without treating a reply as verification
Read a suggested page before treating the request as answered. Check whether the reply refers to the exact features you described or offers an alternative. Thank people for relevant information and ask a focused follow-up when a difference is unclear. Do not repeatedly post the same request across a community without checking its rules.
Reddit’s general etiquette is a starting point, and local rules take precedence for the format of your post. If a useful source is identified, update your own note or thread where appropriate. A recommendation is still a lead to research; it does not establish authenticity, current availability or an endorsement from this website.

Your checklist

Common questions
Can I use the template when I do not know the seller?
Yes. A source request can state that the seller is unknown. Do not fill the gap with a guess.
Does Copy template publish the request?
No. It copies a draft locally for you to edit and use. This website does not submit a Reddit post.
Should I ask for exact matches or alternatives?
Either is possible. State your preference and the features that matter so readers know which suggestions are relevant.
