Separate body size from garment size

Nike's tops chart uses body measurements, not the width of a hoodie laid flat. Ask whether a seller's chest figure is a body circumference, garment circumference or flat width. Compare like with like in the same unit. For a flat garment comparison, use a hoodie you already enjoy wearing and note chest width, body length and sleeve length. Do not double a number unless the chart actually describes a flat half-width.

Check the features that affect daily use

A cropped boxy hoodie and a long slim hoodie can share the same letter size. Request the actual length and shoulder construction instead of treating 'oversized' as a measurement. Check whether the hood has a lining, whether a zip opens fully, and whether pockets suit what you carry. For layering, compare the hoodie with the shirt or coat you intend to wear with it. Ask for interior photographs if brushed fleece or a smooth looped lining matters to you.

Keep the finish and fleece in mind

Read the garment's own label before deciding wash temperature or drying method. UNIQLO's care guidance recommends turning fleece inside out and using a mesh bag to help protect its surface; this is a useful care principle, not a verified instruction for every listing here. Check separately for printed graphics, embroidery, metal trims and mixed fabrics. Ask for care information before buying if a listing has no composition label or gives contradictory washing advice.
